New directors join water corporation board

8 October 2025

North East Water is pleased to announce the appointment of two new Directors to its Board, following an independent Selection Panel process.

Catherine Goss and Allison Jenvey join continuing Directors Stephen Brown (Chair), Jennifer Fraser, Jonathan Green, Leanne Mulcahy, John Murray, Victoria Schmidt (Deputy Chair) and Angela Verde.

Chair Stephen Brown said the organisation is excited to welcome Catherine and Allison, who bring a wealth of experience that will benefit North East Water, the region, and most importantly, our customers.

“We’re also delighted to see Jennifer, Leanne and Jonathan reappointed for a second term,” Mr Brown said. “Their continued involvement provides valuable stability and deep experience to the Board.”

Mr Brown also acknowledged the success of North East Water’s Aboriginal Delegate Program, which continues to evolve. “It’s fantastic to see Johnny Murray’s appointment during the last term, and now Shayne Rodgers being appointed to the Board of North Central Catchment Management Authority. This is a testament to the strength and impact of the program.”

New Director Catherine Goss said she is looking forward to contributing to regional communities through her role. “Having recently moved to regional Victoria with my partner, I’m excited to extend my governance experience and help support healthy, vibrant communities.”

The Corporation is currently preparing its next price submission, which includes a capital investment program of approximately $280 million over the upcoming pricing period.

“Our new Directors will bring additional expertise to help shape our business as we move through this important phase,” Mr Brown said.

Mr Brown also extended his gratitude to outgoing Board members Rosemary Bisset and Cris Topfner-Rigby, acknowledging their valuable contributions over the past several years.
